Last quilt of 2012

It's been a long time between posts. My new year resolution is to post regularly.  With that in mind I started my last quilt of 2012.  It's a baby quilt for a dear friend who had his baby early.  She was expected in January and I thought I would have time to workout during the holiday. As it happened my sewing machine had a minor problem and had to go to the shop for a quick visit.  She's not back yet.  My baby em, my baby Brother embroidery machine was still with my son in Ohio.  He brought it back when they came for a visit.  He also helped me get the Gracie quilting table set up for queen size quilts. We got it working both with my baby em and my old Viking machine.  It was so much fun working on his quilt.  I'll post a picture of his quilt later when he gets it done.  I'm so proud of his hard work.

Back to the baby quilt.  Here is the first block.  It's a friendship star gone wonky.  I saw this on a Sewing With Nancy show I DVR'd.  These fabrics are all Barbie fabrics I purchased as fat quarters at the MN quilt Guild garage sale.  I think I purchased 10 packages of fq.  Each had four different fabrics.  There is a pink fabric that will be the star too and another lighter blue.  All have Barbie written all over it.    Now the problem is deciding weather I want to sash these blocks.  I'll decide that after I get the other blocks done.

Happy quilting!
